You Asked, We Answered
Here are some of the Frequently Asked Questions we get from our couples that aren’t familiar with tiny weddings or elopements in general. If you have any additional questions, let us know! We love getting to know what our couples need and how we can better serve you!
1. Where can we have our small wedding with Meander Gatherings?
Our metro vans have two home locations in Gilbert, Arizona. The first location is Shenandoah Mills on Gilbert Rd between Warner Rd and Ray Rd. The rustic country vibes of the quaint event venue pairs perfectly with the metro van style and small ceremony setup on the back part of the property. The greenery and trees are atypical of most Arizona venues and provides a unique feel for any small wedding. The second home location is at a private residence near Pecos and Higley. This location has a farmhouse vibe with barns and sheds that provide additional backdrops for bridal portraits in addition to the rustic metro van look. If neither of these two locations are right for your event, we also are mobile with one of our Meander Gathering vans. Depending on the mileage and road access, we are able to utilize other locations in the area. If you’d like to setup the ceremony on a different property you have access to, we’d be happy to discuss those logistics. If you have a particular location in mind, please call us to chat about which permits are needed in addition to any additional costs on the packages.
2. Can we add more people?
At Meander Gatherings, we create celebrations for up to 30 guests. We do small weddings because we truly believe in them as a great alternative to larger weddings and courthouse weddings alike. Of course, it would be possible to add more to those numbers. However, we have to draw the line somewhere and we’ve chosen 30 as that number. If you’d like to just utilize our metro van as a backdrop to a photobooth or as a place to get bridal photos instead of a small wedding ceremony, we do that too. We just don’t coordinate weddings and events over 30 people.
3. Do we need an officiant?
We bring that too! Just like a courthouse wedding, you don’t need to provide the officiant. Unlike a courthouse affair, we also bring a photographer to the small wedding. It’s all included in our various packages on our website. Some photography packages include more time and bridal portraits. Some include snacks, florals, and extra décor. It’s up to you how minimalist you want your elopement or tiny wedding to be. We bring what you need and nothing more!
4. When do we get our photos?
To the surprise of many brides and grooms, we typically return photos within 3-5 weeks of your wedding date. If you’re wanting to get married right away instead of waiting for a larger event, you certainly don’t want to wait months to get your photos. This applies doubly to couples that have need to reschedule their weddings multiple times due to COVID. We understand the excitement surrounding wedding photos, and we’re excited to get them back to you as well! Our timeframes may even be quicker than that but you can expect 3-5 weeks for wedding photography to be fully edited and delivered.
